Sarah Engledow Brown is the Music Librarian at the Philip C. Howard Music Library at Middle Tennessee State University.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance (with a minor in French) from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. She earned her Master of Music Education (also with a minor in French) in 2001 from the University of North Texas. She completed 3 years of doctoral work in Musicology, in which her research interests included reception history of Stravinsky, Wagner’s prose, and music in France in the early 20th century. She earned her Master of Science in Library Science from University of North Texas in 2007.
Sarah has worked at the University of North Texas Libraries, in the Preservation Unit and the Music Library, and the University of Houston Libraries. Her research interests include Information Organization (or “cataloging”, as mortals know it), and using online tools such as blogs and wikis to increase Information Literacy in students.
