Using the Music Library
The Howard Music Library’s website is located at the following address:

The Music Library is located in the Instructional Media Resources Center (IMRC), in the Learning Resource Center (LRC). Upon entering the IMRC, the front desk staff will ask you where you are headed. Just tell them you are there to use the Music Library.
If you have a question or a problem finding something at the Music Library, please ask for help at the front desk. If the Music Librarian is not available, the staff will give you a form to fill out and you can write your question and contact information. Someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
Searching the Library Catalog:
Go to library.mtsu.edu. This screen will get your started in searching the library catalog.
Useful Electronic Resources:
The Music Library’s Subject Page is the place to find the Electronic Resources you need. You can find it on the Music Library’s website, or at this link (Cut and paste the address):

Here are few of the most useful ones:
Oxford Music Online: This is a great place to start your research. You can search by composer name, genre, work, basically anything…
Tip: Check the “Search Only: Grove Music Online” box for more specific results.
Naxos Music Library: A great streaming audio database, containing primarily Western Art Music (or “Classical”).
There are several other great resources, so be sure to check out this page.
You can also use all electronic resources (except for Naxos Music Library) off campus using this page. You will be prompted using your Pipeline ID to log in.
How to use Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
- Go to http://library.mtsu.edu/ill/
How to check your library account/How to renew items:
Go to the Walker Library page at http://library.mtsu.edu.
Click on “My Library Account”
Login using your Pipeline ID and Password.
Once you are logged in, you can check to see if you have any items that are checked out. You can also renew these items if they are eligible.
